1996 SLX Maintenance Schedule Revision Notice

BACKGROUND

The Maintenance Schedule in some 1996 SLX owner's manuals shows the wrong spark plug replacement interval. The correct replacement interval for the SLX (platinum) spark plugs is 60,000 miles or four years, whichever comes first. The maintenance schedule was corrected by the second printing of the 1996 SLX Owner's Manual.

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION

All 1996 SLX owners who did not have an Owner's Manual with the correct interval were mailed a letter of explanation, and one revision label.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Apply one of these revision labels to any 1996 SLX Owner's Manual with an incorrect spark plug replacement interval of 30,000 miles or two years, whichever comes first.

A copy of the letter and the revision label are included in this bulletin. Five extra labels are included with this Service Bulletin. Some customers may accidentally misplace or destroy the label and may need an additional one.
