Static From the Speakers While Adjusting the Power Mirrors
SYMPTOM
Static from the speakers while adjusting the power mirrors with the engine running and the radio on.
PROBABLE CAUSE
Inadequate noise suppression for the power source to the mirrors.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Install a noise suppression harness in line with the door harness going to each power mirror.

In warranty: The normal warranty applies.
Out of warranty: Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Technical Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the tweeter assembly (two clips), and unplug its 2P connector.
2. Remove the power mirror (three bolts), and unplug its 8P connector.
3. Remove the front door trim panel.
4. Peel back the upper front corner of the plastic rain protector. Use a utility knife to cut through the sealant.
5. Pull the door wire harness for the power mirror out through the door opening.
6. Plug the noise suppression harness 8P connector into the door wire harness 8P connector.
7. Feed the 8P connector on the other end of the noise suppression harness out through the door opening.
8. Plug the noise suppression harness 8P connector into the power mirror, then reinstall the mirror. Torque the mounting bolts to 8 Nm (6 lb-ft).
9. Pull down on the door wire harness to gather any slack. Fold the door harness over itself to remove the slack, then secure it to the 8P connector with the wire tie.
10. Reinstall the plastic rain protector.
11. Reinstall the front door trim panel.
12. Reinstall the tweeter assembly.
13. Repeat steps 1 thru 12 for the other power mirror.
14. Start the engine, and turn on the radio.
15. While adjusting each power mirror, make sure you hear no static coming from the speakers.
