Front Seat

Front Seat Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.

NOTE:
- When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
- Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Passenger's 8-way power seat is shown, driver's 8-way power seat is symmetrical, and passenger's manual seat is similar.

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the frequencies for the radio preset buttons.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.




3. Detach the clips, and remove the front riser cover (A) and rear riser cover (B).




4. Remove the bolts securing the front seat (A).




5. Lift up the front seat, then disconnect the seat harness connector (A) and side airbag harness connector (B). On passenger's seat, disconnect the OPDS unit harness connector (C), and if equipped with navigation, disconnect the navigation unit connectors (D) and GPS antenna harness connector (E).
6. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the front seat through the front door opening.
7. Install the front seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Replace any damaged clips.
- Make sure the seat harness connector, side airbag connector, OPDS unit connector for passenger's seat, and if equipped, navigation unit connector and GPS antenna harness connector are plugged in properly.
- Enter the anti-theft code for the radio and the navigation system, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
