REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove the mirror mount cover. Disconnect the 2P speaker connector.

2. Remove the door panel. Refer to page 20-6 of the service manual.

3. Remove the outside mirror.

4. Measure and mark the mirror base as shown.

5. Use a Dremel tool or a small file to cut away the area you just marked. Do not cut past the casting line on the edge of the mirror base. Cutting deeper would cause wind noise complaints.

6. Mark the edge of the mirror base gasket to match the area of the mirror base you just cut away.

7. Use an X-acto knife or a razor blade to cut a 5-mm-deep channel from the outside edge to the inner cavity of the gasket. Be careful to not cut a hole through the gasket. A hole would cause a water leak; seal up any hole with Hondabond HT Silicone Liquid Gasket (P/N 08718-0001).

8. Install the mirror. Torque the mounting bolts to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft).

9. Install the door panel and the mirror mount cover.

10. Repeat this procedure on the other outside mirror.

11. Test the mirrors to make sure they work properly.
