PROBABLE CAUSE

WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION
In warranty:
The normal warranty applies.
Out of warranty:
Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
DIAGNOSIS
Close all the windows, the moonroof, the tailgate, and all the doors. Get into the vehicle, close the door, and listen for a squeak coming from the middle of the roof near the rear individual map lights.
^ If you hear the squeak when you close the door, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
^ If you do not hear a squeak when you close the door, test-drive the vehicle over a bumpy road, and listen for the squeak. If you hear the squeak, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE; if you do not, continue with normal troubleshooting.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear individual map lights.
2. Use a coin to remove the socket plug. Put on protective gloves, and gently pull the headliner down at the map light opening.
3. Use a long-handled folding mirror to view the two T-tabs on the back of the moon roof motor assembly. Loosen the two mounting bolts on the assembly, and reposition it so the T-tabs are not touching the sides of the mounting slots in the roof stiffener.
4. Hold the moonroof motor assembly firmly in place, and tighten the mounting bolts. Make sure the T-tabs are not touching the sides of the mounting slots.
5. Reinstall the socket plug.
6. Reinstall the rear individual map lights.
7. Close the doors or test-drive the vehicle over a bumpy road to make sure the squeak is gone.
