REPAIR PROCEDURE A

1. Carefully remove the door speaker grilles from the front and rear doors with a screwdriver (see page 22-165 in the service manual).

2. Tighten the speaker retaining screws. Make sure the head of each retaining screw is tight against the speaker surface. The screws may feel tight, but the screw head may not be holding the speaker securely to the door.

3. Install the door speaker grilles.

4. Remove the access cover on the right rear side trim panel. If the screw is missing, install a self-tapping screw through the right rear side trim panel.

5. Install the access cover.

6. Carefully remove the rear woofer grille with a screwdriver (see page 22-164 in the service manual).

7. Remove the woofer from the right rear side trim panel, and disconnect the woofer connector.

8. Cut four pieces of EPT foam sealer tape 70 mm (2.75 in.) in length.

9. Wrap the wiring branches and the moonroof drain hose with the EPT foam sealer tape as shown. The moonroof drain hose needs to be wrapped where it lays against the rear stereo amplifier.

10. Connect the woofer connector.

11. Install the woofer and the rear speaker grille.

12. Operate the audio system and confirm that the noise is gone.

^ If the noise is gone, the repair is complete.

^ If the noise is still present, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE B.

REPAIR PROCEDURE B

1. Remove the right side D-pillar trim (see page 20-56 in the service manual).

2. Remove the third row seat (see page 20-98 in the service manual).

3. Remove the rear trim panel (see page 20-57 in the service manual).

4. Remove the right rear side trim panel (see page 20-57 in the service manual).

5. Cut two pieces of EPT foam sealer tape 70 mm (2.75 in.) in length.

6. Wrap the two wiring branches with the EPT foam sealer tape as shown.

7. Install the right rear side trim panel.

8. Install the rear trim panel.

9. Install the third row seat.

10. Install the right side 0-pillar trim.

11. Operate the audio system, and confirm that the noise is gone.

^ If the noise is gone, the repair is complete.

^ If the noise is still present, look for other sources.
