Open Power Tailgate Causes Excessive Battery DrawThe '07 Entertainment Package MDX features a nifty power-operated tailgate. You can open and close the tailgate with the mere push of a button from either the driver's seat or from a keyless remote transmitter.
However, when the power tailgate is left open, it may cause an excessive draw on the battery (it's over 3 amps). We're looking into this problem, and we hope to have a fix for it soon. In the meantime, here are a couple of things you can do:
^ Limit how long you leave the power tailgate open.
^ Do an overnight battery charge on any '07 Entertainment Package MDXs in the showroom.
Should service clients come in with dead battery complaints on this vehicle, your service consultants should fill them in on the problem and advise them to limit how long they leave the tailgate open until a fix is available.
