DIAGNOSIS
Play the diagnostic CD to recreate the noise complaint. When you hear the buzz, apply pressure with your hand to the silver trim ring around the rear satellite speaker.
^ If the noise goes away, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
^ If the noise does not go away, disregard this service bulletin and continue with your normal diagnosis.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Pry out the trim ring from the quarter pillar trim with a small flat blade screwdriver.
NOTE:
Use a shop towel to protect the trim.
2. Cut three 3 mm x 20 mm strips of the wool felt.
3. Apply the wool felt to the back side of the trim ring. Position the wool felt 1 mm from the outer edge of the trim ring so it is not visible after the trim ring is installed.
4. Reinstall the trim ring.
NOTE:
If you need to order a new trim ring, it is not available as a separate part. The trim ring comes with the quarter pillar trim.
5. Repeat steps 1 thru 4 for the other satellite speaker.
6. Make sure the noise is gone by playing the diagnostic CD.
