Brake Warning Light Is On

REVISION SUMMARY

*Under WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION, the flat rate time was changed because the MVCI updates control modules more efficiently.*

SYMPTOM

The amber colored brake system indicator is on, and PGM-FI DTC P1131 (electric vacuum pump system related PGM-FI sensor signal malfunction) is stored.

PROBABLE CAUSE

An error in the brake system software.

Normally, DTC P1131 is stored only when a PGM-FI

DTC has also been stored for one of these sensors:

^ MAP sensor

^ BARO sensor

^ Vehicle speed sensor

^ APP sensor (accelerator pedal position sensor)

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the PGM-FI software.

SOFTWARE INFORMATION

HDS Software Version 2.006.019 (or later).

NOTE:
To avoid an incorrect repair that would not be covered under warranty, use the software version listed above or a later version.





The updated PGM-FI software program ID and P/N are shown below. If the HDS or MVCI is loaded with the latest software, and it displays No Update Needed during the update, the software for this service bulletin

DIAGNOSIS

Check for other PGM-FI DTCs.

Are any other DTCs stored?

Yes - Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

No - Go to the REPAIR PROCEDURE.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Update the PGM-FI software. Refer to Acura service bulletin 01-026, Updating Control Unit/Modules.
