REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Move the left rear seat-back to its normal latched position.

2. Insert a 2 mm feeler gauge between the striker and the top and bottom surfaces of the latch opening:

^ If the 2 mm feeler gauge won't fit between the striker and the top surface, bend the end of the striker down (see step 3).

^ If the 2 mm feeler gauge won't fit between the striker and the bottom surface, bend the end of the striker up (see step 3).

3. To bend the striker, fold down the left rear seat-back. Insert a pry bar through the striker loop, and brace it against the reinforced base of the striker. Carefully bend the striker end up or down as needed.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 until the 2 mm feeler gauge fits between the striker and both surfaces of the latch.

5. Using a trim tool, remove the latch trim from the seat back.

6. Using vise grips, squeeze the rubber bumper housing to eliminate the movement of the bumper.
