Error Code: XM No Signal Is Displayed

Error code: XM NO SIGNAL is displayed

NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first.
- Always check the connectors for poor connection or loose terminals.

1. Park vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
3. Turn on the audio unit and select XM radio.

Does the XM radio receive a signal?

YES - Reception interference operation is normal.

NO
- With AcuraLink: Go to step 4.
- Without AcuraLink: Go to step 10.

4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
5. Check AM/FM/XM antenna 2P connector and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector C (2P).

Are the connectors connected?

YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Reconnect the AM/FM/XM antenna 2P connector and AcuraLink control unit connector C (2P) connector and recheck XM radio operation. If the signal is restored, the system is OK. If the signal is not restored go to step 3.

6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
7. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) No. 1 terminal and body ground.






Is there battery voltage?

YES - Go to step 8.

NO - Repair open in the wire between No. 23 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) No. 1 terminal.

8. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) No. 11 terminal and body ground.






Is there less than 0.1 V?

YES - Go to step 9.

NO - Repair open in the wire between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (20P) No. 11 terminal and body ground (G505).

9. Substitute known-good AM/FM/XM antenna.

Does the XM radio receive a signal?

YES - Replace AM/FM/XM antenna.

NO - Substitute a known-good XM antenna lead. If the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) receives signal, replace the original XM antenna lead. If the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) does not receive signal, substitute a known-good AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).

10. Check the connection at AM/FM/XM antenna connector B (2P) and XM receiver connector B (2P).

Are the connectors connected?

YES - Go to step 11.

NO - Reconnect the connectors and recheck XM radio operation. If the signal is restored, the system is OK. If the signal is not restored go to step 10.

11. Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I).
12. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) No. 1 terminal and body ground.






Is there battery voltage?

YES - Go to step 13.

NO - Repair open in the wire between audio unit connector B (14P) No. 1 terminal and XM receiver connector A (14P) No. 1 terminal.

13. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) No. 11 terminal and body ground.






Is there less than 0.1 V?

YES - Go to step 14.

NO - Repair open in the wire between audio unit connector B (14P) No. 11 terminal and XM receiver connector A (14P) No. 11 terminal.

14. Substitute a known-good AM/FM/XM antenna.

Does the XM radio receive signal?

YES - Replace the AM/FM/XM antenna.

NO - Substitute a known-good XM antenna lead. If the XM receiver receives signal, replace the original XM antenna lead. If the XM receiver does not receive signal, substitute a known-good XM receiver.
