Dashboard Replacement

Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program.

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:
- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the dashboard.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, and related parts.

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio and the navigation system (if equipped), then write down the audio presets.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
3. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides
- Center console
- Steering column
- Driver's switch panel
- Upper dashboard panel
- Center panel
- Glove box
- Driver's dashboard undercover
- Passenger's dashboard undercover
- Gauge control module
- Audio unit
- Navigation display unit, with navigation system
- Audio-HVAC display unit, without navigation system
- Front center speaker
- Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit, with navigation system
- Sunlight sensor
- In-car temperature sensor
- A-pillar trim, both sides
- Kick panel, both sides

Driver's side




4. Using a KTC trim tool, pry up on the front bottom edge of the dashboard side lid (A) to release the clips. Gently pull out to release the hooks (B), then remove the lid. Repeat on the other side of the dashboard.




5. Remove the screws, then remove the GPS antenna bracket (A) (with navigation system), then push the antenna out through the hole in the dashboard.

Center




6. Detach the wire harness clip (A) from the center upper dashboard panel opening.




7. Detach the wire harness clips (A) from center panel opening.

Passenger's side




8. Disconnect the antenna 2P connector (A), and detach the wire harness clips (B) from the glove box opening.
9. Carefully pry the glove box light (C) from the inside of the dashboard, and detach the wire harness clips (D).




10. From the front of the dashboard (A), remove the screws (B) and bolts (C).




11. Lift upon the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B), then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening.

NOTE: Lay the dashboard on its front or back. Do not rest it on the lower console opening or you may damage it.

12. Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly
- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the audio and the navigation system (if equipped), then enter the audio presets.
- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
