Key Will Not Come Out of the Ignition Switch; Roof Leaks Water

SYMPTOM

The key intermittently cannot be removed from the ignition switch and/or the carpet in the driver's footwell area is wet.

PROBABLE CAUSE

There is a pinhole gap in the sealer at the roof molding on the driver's side. The pinhole gap allows water to leak into the driver's A-pillar and the kick panel.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Locate and seal the source of the water leak. Then clean out connector C203, and apply dielectric grease to its terminals.

16. Paint the new sealer with touch-up paint.

NOTE:
If the paint on the roof was damaged during the repair, repaint the roof as needed.
