Rear Seat-back Cover/Pad Replacement
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat covers.
1. Remove the rear seat. Rear Seat Removal/Installation
2. Remove the rear seat armrest. Rear Seat Armrest Replacement
3. Remove the pivot bracket (A).
-1 Using a TORX T40 bit, remove the pivot bolt (B).
-2 Remove the pivot cover (C) and the pivot bracket. If necessary, remove the bushing (D) and the pivot washer (E).
4. Install the bracket in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply multipurpose grease to the moving portions of the bushing.
- Replace any damage or stress-whitened bushing and pivot washer with new one.
5. Remove the clips (A), and detach the clips (B), then remove the striker hole cover (C).
6. Release the hooks (A), then remove the tether anchor cover (B).
7. Pull out the cap (A), and remove the screw.
8. Pull up the rear edge of the lock knob trim (A) to release, and remove the trim from the hole in the seat-back.
9. Remove the screws, and release the hooks (A), then remove the seat belt hole cover (B). Slip the rear center seat belt out through the slit (C) in the seat belt hole cover.
10. Pull out the armrest cover (A) to release the upper edge of the cover, and detach the clip. Pull out the armrest cover to release the hooks (B) from the seat-back frame wire (C) and the hook (D).
11. From behind the seat-back, release the hook (A), and unzip the seat-back cover (B). Pull back the seat-back cover.
12. Release the clips.
13. Release the hooks (A) from the seat-back frame wire (B).
14. Remove the head restraint guides (A) and the center head restraint guides (B) while pinching the tabs on the ends of the guides.
15. Remove the seat-back cover/pad (C) from the seat-back frame (D), and pass the center seat belt (E) out through a hole in the seat-back cover/pad.
16. Pull back the edge of the seat cushion cover all the way around, and release the clips (A) and the plastic plate (B), then remove the seat cushion cover (C).
17. Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- To prevent wrinkles when installing a seat cushion cover, make sure the material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the clips.
- Replace any clips (A) you removed with new ones. Install them with commercially available upholstery ring pliers (B).
