Dashboard Replacement

Special Tools Required

- KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014*
*Available through the Acura Tool and Equipment Program

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

NOTE:

- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the dashboard.

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.

- Take care not to scratch the dashboard, and related parts.

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

2. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides:
- '09 model Front Seat Removal/Installation

- Center console Center Console Removal/Installation

- Steering column Steering Column Removal and Installation

- Driver's switch panel Dashboard Driver's Switch Panel Removal/Installation

- Upper dashboard panel Upper Dashboard Panel Removal/Installation

- Center panel Dashboard Center Panel Removal/Installation

- Glove box Glove Box Removal/Installation

- Driver's dashboard undercover Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation

- Passenger's dashboard undercover Passenger's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation

- Gauge control module Service and Repair

- Audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation (USA models with Navigation)

- Navigation display unit, with navigation system Service and Repair

- Audio-HVAC display unit, without navigation system Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation)

- Front center speaker Service and Repair

- Audio-HVAC subdisplay unit, with navigation system Audio-HVAC Subdisplay Unit Removal/Installation (With Navigation)

- Sunlight sensor Service and Repair

Driver's side

3. Using a KTC trim tool, pry up on the front bottom edge of the dashboard side lid (A) to release the clips. Gently pull out to release the hooks (B), then remove the lid. Repeat on the other side of the dashboard.






4. Remove the screws, then remove the GPS antenna bracket (A) (with navigation system), then push the antenna out through the hole in the dashboard.






Center

5. Detach the wire harness clip (A) from the center upper dashboard panel opening.






6. Detach the wire harness clips (A) from center panel opening.






Passenger's side

7. Disconnect the antenna 2P connector (A), and detach the wire harness clips (B) from the glove box opening.

8. Carefully pry the glove box light (C) from the inside of the dashboard, and detach the wire harness clips (D).






9. From the front of the dashboard (A), remove the screws (B) and the bolts (C).






10. Lift up on the dashboard (A) to release it from the guide pins (B), then carefully remove the dashboard through the front door opening.
NOTE: Lay the dashboard on its front or back. Do not rest it on the lower console opening or you may damage it.

11. Install the dashboard in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the dashboard fits onto the guide pins correctly.

- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the wire harnesses are not pinched.

- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.

- Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures

- Check for any DTCs that may have been set during repairs, and clear them.
