Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection
Transmission Range Switch Test
'07 Model
1. Do the battery removal procedure. Removal and Replacement
2. Remove the battery base. Engine Removal
3. Disconnect the transmission range switch harness connector.
4. Check for continuity between terminals at the harness connector. There should be continuity between the terminals indicated in the following table for each switch position.
5. The transmission range switch test is finished if the test results are OK.
If there is no continuity between any terminals, go to step 6.

6. Disconnect the transmission range switch connector.
7. Check for continuity between terminals at the switch connector. There should be continuity between the terminals indicated in the following table for each switch position.
8. If the transmission range switch continuity check is OK, replace the faulty transmission range switch harness. If there is no continuity between any terminals, check the transmission range switch installation. If the switch installation is OK, replace the switch. Service and Repair
9. Check the connector for rust, dirt, or oil, then connect the connectors securely.
10. Install the battery base. Engine Installation
11. Do the battery installation procedure. Removal and Replacement
12. Do the power window control unit reset procedure. Testing and Inspection
Transmission Range Switch Connector
'08-09 Models
1. Do the battery removal procedure. Removal and Replacement
2. Remove the battery base. Engine Removal
3. Disconnect the transmission range switch connector.
4. Check for continuity between terminals at the switch connector. There should be continuity between the terminals in the following table for each switch position.
5. Transmission range switch test is finished if the test results are OK.
If there is no continuity between any terminals, check that the transmission range switch installation. If the switch installation is OK, replace the switch. Service and Repair
6. Check the connector rust, dirt, or oil, then connect the connector securely.
7. Install the battery base. Engine Installation
8. Do the battery installation procedure. Removal and Replacement
9. Do the power window control unit reset procedure. Testing and Inspection
