Tailgate Release Actuator Test

1. Open the tailgate.

2. Remove the tailgate lower trim panel .

3. Disconnect the 4P connector (A) from the tailgate latch (B).





4. Check actuator operation by momentarily connecting power to terminal No. 1 and ground to terminal No. 2 momentarily. The actuator should work.

5. If the actuator does not work, replace the tailgate latch Service and Repair.
