Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2705
DTC 2705:
HFL Diag
With AcuraLink
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- This navigation DTC sets when a problem is detected in the connecting lines (open or short) or in the HandsFreeLink control unit.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the general troubleshooting information How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System.
1. Clear the hard error code.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
3. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu Navigation System Diagnostic Mode.
4. Select the XM (HIP), then check the XM (HIP) System Link.
Are the XM (HIP). ECU and Navi icons red?
YES -
Do the DTC 2704 troubleshooting 2704.�
NO -
Go to step 5.
5. Check the XM (HIP) System Link.
Is the HFL icon red?
YES -
Go to step 6.
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.�
6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
7. Connect the HDS to the DLC Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are any HFL DTCs indicated?
YES -
Do the HFL DTC troubleshooting.�
NO -
Go to step 10.
10. Do the B-CAN test mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A, and check the communication with the HandsFreeLink control unit.
Does the HandsFreeLink control unit communicate with the HDS?
YES -
Go to step 11.
NO -
Go to HandsFreeLink control unit troubleshooting.�
11. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
12. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector, and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).
13. Check for continuity between body ground and HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminals No. 6, and No. 7, No. 20, and No. 21 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) and the HandsFreeLink control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 14.
14. Check for continuity between the terminals of HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector according to the table.
Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES -
There is a short in the wires between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Replace the affected shielded harness.�
NO -
Go to step 15.
15. Connect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminals No. 22, No. 23, No. 24, and No. 25 to body ground with jumper wires.
16. Check for continuity between body ground and HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminals No. 6, No. 7, No. 20, and No. 21 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit Service and Repair.�
NO -
There is an open in the wire(s) between the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) and the HandsFreeLink control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.�
