Over-Run Alternator Decoupler (OAD) Pulley Removal and Installation

Special Tools Required

- Alternator OAD Pulley Holder 07AAB-TK8A100

Removal-'11 model

1. Remove the alternator.

2. Clamp the alternator firmly in a vise.

3. Remove the over-run alternator decoupler (OAD) pulley seal cap (A) by piercing the center of the rubber cap with a flat screwdriver and prying it loose.

NOTE: While the cap is off, the grease inside the OAD pulley is exposed. Do not wipe the grease off, and make sure it does not become contaminated.






4. Insert the alternator OAD pulley holder (A) into the OAD pulley.






5. Place a 10 mm deep socket wrench (A) through center of the alternator OAD pulley holder (B), onto hex on the end of the alternator shaft.





6. Hold the alternator OAD pulley holder with a 17 mm wrench (C), then turn the alternator shaft clockwise.

7. Remove the OAD pulley (D).

Installation-'11 model

1. Loosely tighten the OAD pulley (A), then insert the alternator OAD pulley holder (B) into the OAD pulley.






2. Place a 10 mm deep socket wrench (A) through center of the alternator OAD pulley holder (B), onto hex on the end of the alternator shaft.





3. Hold the alternator OAD pulley holder with a 17 mm wrench (C), then tighten the alternator shaft counterclockwise to specified torque.






4. Install the new OAD pulley seal cap (A).

NOTE:

- When installing do not distort the OAD pulley seal cap.
- Make sure to check if the cap is installed securely.





5. Install the alternator.
