Audio Unit Removal/Installation
With ELS audio
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair in the SRS section before doing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
- Lay a shop towels under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.
- If you are replacing the audio unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), and enter them into the new audio unit.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio system and the navigation system.
2. Remove the center console panel and the audio pocket.
3. Remove the bolts (A), then pull out the audio unit (B).
4. Disconnect the connectors, then remove the audio unit.
5. Remove the bolts (A) and the brackets (B).
6. Install the audio unit in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure all the connectors are secure.
- Enter the anti-theft code for the audio system and the navigation system.
- If necessary, enter the navigation system code.
7. Give the new anti-theft code to the client if the audio unit is replaced.
