Audio System Information Does Not Display On the Audio-HVAC Display Unit (With Premium Audio System)(Without Navigation System)




Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - Audio system information does not display on the audio-HVAC display unit (with premium audio system)

Audio system information does not display on the audio-HVAC display unit (with premium audio)

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Remove the audio-HVAC display unit Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installationand audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation (Without Navigation System).

2. Check the connections at the audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector, audio unit connector C (28P), and audio switch panel connector A (20P).

Are the connectors and terminals connected properly?

YES -

Go to step 3.

NO -

Repair the connection, and recheck.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Disconnect the audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector and audio unit connector C (28P).

5. Check for continuity between audio unit connector C (28P) terminals and the audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector terminals as shown.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 6.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the audio-HVAC display unit.

6. Check for continuity between body ground and audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector terminals No. 7 and No. 8 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the audio-HVAC display unit.

NO -

Go to step 7.

7. Disconnect audio switch panel connector A (20P).

8. Check for continuity between audio switch panel connector A (20P) terminals No. 2 and No. 12 and the audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector terminals No. 12 and No. 10.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 9.

NO -

Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio switch panel and the audio-HVAC display unit.

9. Check for continuity between body ground and audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector terminals No. 10 and No. 12 individually.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Repair a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the audio-HVAC display unit.

NO -

Go to step 10.

10. Check for continuity between audio switch panel connector A (20P) and the audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector according to the table.









Is there continuity?

YES -

Go to step 11.

NO -

There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio switch panel and the audio-HVAC display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

11. Check for continuity between body ground and the audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector according to the table.









Is there continuity?

YES -

There is a short to body ground in the wire(s) between the audio-HVAC display unit and the audio switch panel. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO -

Go to step 12.

12. Check for continuity between the terminals of the audio-HVAC display unit 12P connector according to the table.









Is there continuity between any of the terminals?

YES -

There is a short in the wire(s) between the audio switch panel and the audio-HVAC display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO -

Substitute a known-good audio switch panel Audio Switch Panel Removal / Installation (Without Navigation System), and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio switch panel Audio Switch Panel Removal / Installation (Without Navigation System). If the symptom is still present, substitute a known-good audio-HVAC display unit Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio-HVAC display unit Audio-HVAC Display Unit Removal/Installation.
