Rear Seat-Back Cover/Pad Replacement
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
1. Remove the rear seat-back.
2. Remove the rear seat armrest Rear Seat Armrest Replacement.
3. Remove the pivot brackets (A) from both sides.
1. Remove the pivot bolt (B) with a TORX T40 bit and the pivot washer (C).
2. Remove the pivot cover (D) and the pivot bracket. If necessary, remove the bushing (E).
4. Remove the clips (A), and detach the clips (B), then remove the striker hole cover (C).
5. Release the hooks (A), then remove the tether anchor cover (B).
6. Pry out the cap (A), and remove the screw.
7. Pull up the rear edge of the lock knob trim (A), then remove the trim from the hole in the seat-back.
8. Left rear seat-back: Remove the screws, and release the hooks (A), then remove the seat belt hole cover (B). Slip the rear center seat belt out through the slit (C) in the seat belt hole cover.
9. Left rear seat-back: Pull out the upper edge of armrest cover (A) to detach the clip. Pull out the armrest cover to release the hooks (B) from the seat-back frame wire (C) and release the hook strip (D).
10. From behind the seat-back, release the hook strip (A), and unzip the seat-back cover (B). Pull back the seat-back cover.
11. Remove the clips (A, B).

12. Left rear seat-back: Release the hook strips (A) from the seat-back frame wire (B).
13. Pinch the tabs on the end of the head restraint guides (A), remove the head restraint guides and the center head restraint guides (B).
14. Remove the seat-back cover/pad (C) from the seat-back frame (D), and pass the center seat belt (E) out through the hole in the left rear seat-back cover/pad.
15. Pull back the edge of the seat-back cover all the way around, and release the upholstery rings (A) and the plastic plate (B), then remove the seat-back cover (C).
16. Install the cover/pad in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply multipurpose grease to the moving portions of the pivot bushings.
- If the pivot bushings and the pivot washers are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- To prevent wrinkles when installing the seat-back cover, make sure the material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the upholstery rings.
- Replace all of the upholstery rings (A) fastening the seat-back cover (B) to the pad wire (C) with new ones using commercially available upholstery ring pliers (D).
