Fuel Filter: Testing and Inspection

1. Check the fuel filter for any signs of external damage, cracks, dents, or leaking.
2. If fuel contamination is suspected, remove the fuel filter and empty the contents into a clean container. If the fuel sample appears dirty or cloudy, replace the fuel filter.

NOTE: The fuel system must remain free of contamination to operate properly. If the fuel filter has been contaminated, do NOT attempt to blow out or clean the filter. Blowing out the filter may damage the filter element and allow further damage to expensive fuel system components.
