Seats: Description and Operation

How The Circuit Works

Driver's Seat
Power is provided at all times through fuse 36 to the contacts of all four relays, to the coils of the forward and backward reclining relays, and to the sliding limit switch. This switch, in turn, provides power to the coils of the forward and backward sliding relays.

Slide Operation
When the slide switch is in the "Forward" position, ground is provided to the coil of the forward sliding relay. The relay closes and provides power to the sliding motor. The sliding motor is grounded through the backward sliding relay. The motor will run forward until the switch is released or the seat reaches the fully forward position. In the fully forward position, the sliding limit switch forward contact opens and de-energizes the forward sliding relay: The motor stops.
The backward sliding operation is exactly the same.

Reclining Operation:
Reclining operation is similar to sliding operation but there is no limit switch.
