Keyless Entry: Description and Operation
The keyless entry system is designed to work at a distance of less than 50 feet from the transmitter (distance may vary with conditions).Battery voltage is applied at all times through fuse 44, and the in-line fuse, to the keyless entry control unit and to the power door lock control unit. The unit is grounded at G301.
The keyless entry control unit locks or unlocks the doors and simultaneously arms or disarms the security system upon receiving an arm/disarm signal. When the control unit receives a panic signal from the transmitter, the security system alarm will go off; the horns will sound, and lights will flash.
To keep you from accidentally unlocking the doors and leaving them unlocked, the keyless entry control unit will lock the doors automatically within 10 seconds of receiving an unlock signal it the driver's door is not opened, or the key is not inserted into the ignition switch.
