SYMPTOM
Customer compiaints of static on AM radio stations.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The amplifier (behind the rear seat-back) may generate noise. This noise is picked up through the antenna and, in areas where reception is weak, overpowers the AM signal.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Confirm the antenna grounding by cleaning the antenna assembly and tightening the mounting nuts in the proper sequence. Refer to service bulletin 91-053.
2. Test the radio's reception of weak AM stations. If static is still evident, replace the Bose amplifier with a new unit listed under PARTS INFORMATION.
