RECALL: 1991 LEGEND A/T SHIFT CABLE
This Parts Information Bulletin supports Acura Service Bulletin 91-024 dated April 22, 1991. Please refer to that bulletin for complete technical details.
During a minor frontal collision, the engine and transmission rock forward on the engine mounts. This is normal. However, the transmission shift cable bracket may be damaged by this rocking even though there may be no visible damage to the car from the impact. If this bracket is damaged, the shift lever indicated position may not match the transmission gear position. The kit below must be installed in all affected vehicles.

Dear Acura Service Manager:
Enclosed are the following service publications:
1991 Legend A/T Shift Cable Recall
^ Service Bulletin 91-024
^ Parts Information Bulletin 91-0017
^ Campaign Responsibility Report
The enclosed campaign responsibility report is a listing of VINs that have been registered as being sold by your dealership.
The report reflects the most current vehicle repair status. The repair status is reported in the last two columns of the report (UNIT STAT & COMMENTS).
Under the column titled STAT, there are two letter codes that have the following meanings:
FX = = = = Car Has Been Fixed
NU = = = = Recall Notice is Undeliverable
NR = = = = Recall Notice Was Returned To American Honda
NO = = = = Notice Was Returned To American Honda As Never Owned
The column titled COMMENTS lists the actual "repair" date. A blank space in this column means the vehicle still needs to be repaired.
Please contact the customers who have not had the recall work completed and encourage them to make a repair appointment.
If any of the above items are not included in this mailing, contact Service Communications at (213) 783-3461.
