Seats: Description and Operation
DRIVER'S SEAT (WITH MEMORY)The power seat control unit receives power at all times through fuses 15, 55, and 58, and in RUN or START through fuse 20.
Manual Operation:
When one or more of the switches inside the power seat switch is closed, the power seat control unit provides voltage to the appropriate motor(s) and the seat moves. The seat will continue to move until the switch or the corresponding limit switch opens. For example, if the power seat switch is placed in the SLIDE FORWARD position and held, the slide motor will run until the seat reaches the forward position limit. Then the slide limit switch forward contacts open and the power seat control unit removes power from the slide motor.
Memory Operation:
With the ignition switch in RUN, two seat positions can be saved in memory. Press and release the memory switch and, when you hear a beep, immediately press and hold one of the memory switches until you hear two beeps. The seat's position is now in memory.
One touch on the memory switch will automatically adjust seat position only when the driver's door is open. When the driver's door is closed, you must hold the switch down. When adjustment is complete, you will hear two beeps.
The power seat control unit adjusts the seat-back angle only within a certain range. If the seat-back angle stored in memory is beyond this range, automatic adjustment will stop at the limit and you'll hear three beeps. To continue the automatic adjustment, press and hold the appropriate memory switch. When the seat-back reaches the memorized position, you'll hear two beeps.
DRIVER'S SEAT (WITHOUT MEMORY)
Power is provided at all times through fuse 55 and fuse 58 to the driver's power seat switch.
Front Up/Down Operation:
When you move the front Up/Down switch to UP power is supplied to the front Up/Down motor through the driver's power seat switch. The front Up/Down motor is grounded through the UP contact of the front Up/Down switch. The motor will run until you release the switch or the seat reaches the full front UP/DOWN position. The DOWN operation of the front Up/Down switch is similar, with power and ground being applied to opposite sides causing the motor to run in the opposite direction.
Slide Operation:
Slide operation is similar to the front Up/Down operation.
Rear UP/DOWN Operation:
Rear Up/Down operation is similar to the front Up/Down operation.
Recline Operation:
Recline operation is similar to the front Up/Down operation.
PASSENGER'S SEAT:
Power is provided at all times through fuse 52 to the front passenger's power seat switch.
Slide Operation:
Slide operation is similar to the driver's seat front Up/Down operation.
Recline Operation:
Recline operation is similar to the driver's front Up/Down operation.
