Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation
The moonroof is opened and closed by a reversible motor. Voltage is applied at all times through fuse 51 to the normally open contacts in the moonroof CLOSE relay and moonroof OPEN relay. With the ignition switch in ON (II) or START (III), voltage is applied through fuse 23, the moonroof CLOSE relay coil, and the moonroof OPEN relay coil to the moonroof switch contacts.Opening the Moonroof
When you push the moonroof switch to the OPEN position, the moonroof OPEN relay coil is grounded through the moonroof switch OPEN contacts to G303. The coil energizes and the moonroof OPEN relay contacts close, applying voltage to the moonroof motor. The motor then runs, opening the moonroof. The motor will run until you release the switch. The motor is grounded through the moonroof CLOSE relay contacts to G252.
Closing the Moonroof
When you push the moonroof switch to the CLOSE position, the moonroof CLOSE relay coil is grounded through the moonroof switch CLOSE contacts to G303. The coil then energizes, closing the moonroof CLOSE relay contacts and applying voltage to the moonroof motor. The motor then runs, closing the moonroof. The motor will run until you release the moonroof switch. The motor is grounded through the contacts in the moonroof OPEN relay to G252.
