Inspecting/Replacing the Hook Stops [NEW]

[NEW]
(1995 models thru VIN JH4NA1...ST000781 only)

1. Remove the roof panel.





2. Inspect the hook stops to determine if they are the old style or the new style.

[NEW]
^ If they are the new style hook stops, go to Lubricating the Lock Pins, Roof Seals, and Seat Panels.

^ If they are the old style hook stops, replace them with the new style hook stops; continue with step 3.

3. Remove the sun visors.





4. Pull back the upper part of the door trim and the front pillar trim.





5. Remove the screws holding the front roof rail trim, then remove the trim by sliding it backward.





6. Remove both hook stops.

7. Install the new hook stops (see PARTS INFORMATION).

[NEW]
8. Reinstall the roof rail trim, the pillar trim, the door trim, and the sun visors. Then perform the next procedure, Lubricating the Lock Pins, Roof Seals, and Seat Panels.
