Window Noise During Operation

This service bulletin replaces 95-022, "Front Window Squeal," dated October 10, 1995)

SYMPTOM

A window makes a squealing noise when going up or down. It may also speed up or slow down as it moves. The glass may be scratched.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Friction between the window glass and components inside the door may cause noise and/or speed variations. Contamination on the glass stabilizer pads may scratch the glass.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the glass stabilizers and sashes with new parts (see PARTS INFORMATION). Inspect the glass alignment. Replace the window glass if it is scratched.
