Broken Remote Transmitter Case

PROBLEM





The remote transmitter case cannot be secured on a key ring because the "loop" is broken.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the remote transmitters with those listed under PARTS INFORMATION, and perform the programming procedure.

NOTE:

^ Even if the customer has only one broken remote transmitter, replace both transmitters.

^ This system will accommodate only two remote transmitters.

^ Program both of the remote transmitters before installing either on a key ring.

Programming the Replacement Remote

Transmitter

1. Open the driver's door.

2. Push up the driver's master door lock switch to the UNLOCKED position. Hold it there for the rest of this procedure.

NOTE:
Step 3 must be completed within 10 seconds of performing step 2.

3. Quickly insert and remove the key from the ignition switch five times; then insert the key the sixth time, and leave it in the ignition. All doors except the driver's door will lock and unlock to indicate that the control unit is in the program mode.

4. Press either button on the replacement remote transmitter. All doors except the driver's door will lock and unlock to indicate the control unit has accepted the new remote transmitter.

5. Program the second remote transmitter by pressing either button on it. The doors will lock and unlock as described in step 4.

6. Release the driver's master door lock switch.

7. To exit the program mode, close the driver's door or remove the key from the ignition switch.
