Pinion Gear Backlash

1. Remove the tapered roller bearings.
2. Install the left driveshaft and the intermediate shaft in the side gears.
3. Measure the backlash of both pinion gears.
- Standard: 0.05 - 0.15 mm (0.002 - 0.006 inch).
- Service Limit: 0.30 mm (0.012 inch).

NOTE: If the backlash exceeds the service limit, replace the differential carrier.
