Engine Installation
Install the engine in the reverse order of removal. Reinstall the mount bolts/nuts in the following sequence. Failure to follow these procedures may cause excessive noise and vibration, and reduce bushing life.
1. Position the side engine mount. Put a 6 x 100 mm bolt through the mount to align it properly:
2. Tighten the mount bolt, then remove the 6 x 100 mm bolt.
3. Position the transmission mount. Put a 6 x 100 mm bolt through the mount to align it properly.
4. Tighten the mount bolt, then remove the 6 x 100 mm bolt.
5. Install the rear mount bracket, then tighten the bolts in the numbered sequence as shown ((1) - (2)).
6. Install the front mount bracket, then tighten the mount bolt.
NOTE: Do not tighten the bolts on the engine side.
7. Tighten the bolt/nut on the side engine mount.
8. Tighten the nuts on the transmission mount.
9. Tighten the bolts on the front mount bracket.
10. Perform the following:
- Check that the set rings on the ends of the driveshaft and intermediate shaft click into place.
CAUTION: Use new set rings.
- Adjust the shift cable.
- Adjust the throttle cable.
- Adjust the cruise control cable.
- Refill the engine with engine oil.
- Refill the transmission fluid.
- Refill the radiator with engine coolant.
- Bleed air from the cooling system with the heater valve open.
- Clean the battery posts and cable terminals with sandpaper, assemble them, then apply grease to prevent corrosion.
- Inspect for fuel leakage.
After assembling the fuel line, turn on (II) the ignition switch (do not operate the starter) so that the fuel pump runs for approximately two seconds and pressurizes the fuel line. Repeat this operation two or three times, then check for fuel leakage at any point in the fuel line.
- Enter the anti-theft cede for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
