Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Drain the transmission fluid.
2. Remove the left driveshaft.





3. Remove the three flange bolts.





4. Remove the intermediate shaft from the differential.

CAUTION: Hold the intermediate shaft horizontal until it is clear of the differential to prevent damage to the differential oil seal.

INSTALLATION





1. Insert the intermediate shaft into the differential.

CAUTION: Hold the intermediate shaft horizontal to prevent damage to the differential oil seal.

NOTE: Clean the areas where the intermediate shaft contacts the differential thoroughly with solvent or carburetor cleaner, and dry with compressed air.





2. Install the three flange bolts, then tighten them.
