Cylinder Head Disassembly

NOTE: Index the valves and valve springs as they are removed so that each item can be reinstalled in its original position.





1. Using an appropriate-sized socket and plastic mallet, lightly tap the valve retainer to loosen the valve keepers.





2. Install the valve spring compressor. Compress the springs and remove the valve keepers.





3. Install the valve guide seal remover.





4. Remove the valve seal.





Intake Valve Dimensions:
A Standard (New): 33.90 - 34.10 mm (1.335 - 1.343 inch)
B Standard (New): 114.85 - 115.15 mm (4.522 - 4.533 inch)
C Standard (New): 5.485 - 5.495 mm (0.2159 - 0.2163 inch)
D Standard (New): 0.85 - 1.15 mm (0.033 - 0.045 inch)
D Service Limit: 0.65 mm (0.026 inch)

Exhaust Valve Dimensions:
A Standard (New): 28.90 - 29.10 mm (1.138 - 1.146 inch)
B Standard (New): 112.85 - 113.15 mm (4.443 - 4.455 inch)
C Standard (New): 5.450 - 5.460 mm (0.2146 - 0.2150 inch)
C Service Limit: 5.420 mm (0.2134 inch)
D Standard (New): 1.05 - 1.35 mm (0.041 - 0.053 inch)
D Service Limit: 0.95 mm (0.037 inch)
