MIL On With DTC P1106

SYMPTOM

The MIL is on, and DTC P1106 (barometric pressure circuit) is stored.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The PCM software is not responding correctly to the barometric pressure sensing circuitry. This is in the Premium model (with TCS) only. In the Base model, troubleshoot other causes.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the PCM with an updated unit.

In warranty:
The normal warranty applies.

Out of warranty:
Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Technical Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove the passenger's side door sill molding and pull back the carpet.





2. Remove the PCM cover (four nuts).

3. Remove the PCM. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

4. Connect the electrical connectors to the new PCM. Install the PCM.

5. Reinstall the PCM cover. Torque the mounting nuts to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft).

6. Reinstall the carpet and the door sill molding.





7. Connect the PGM Tester to the Data Link Connector. Make sure the PGM Tester has software version SN 902 or later.

8. Select # 5 (IMMOBI) from the MAIN menu.

9. From the IMMOBI menu, select # 1 (REWRITE).

10. From the REWRITE menu, select # 2 (ECM) and continue to follow the screen prompts.
