Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

PRIMARY H02S:
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the radio's preset buttons.
2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal first, then the positive terminal.
3. Remove the battery, then remove the heat shields.





4. Remove the wire harness covers, then disconnect the primary H02S connector.





5. Remove the primary H02S.
6. Install the primary H02S in reverse order of remove.
7. Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.

SECONDARY HO2S:
1. Move the front passenger's seat forward. Pull the carpet back to expose the secondary HO2S connector.





2. Disconnect the secondary HO2S connector.





3. Remove the wire harness cover and heat shields.





4. Remove the secondary HO2S.





5. Install the secondary HO2S in reverse order of removal.
- Be sure to follow the instructions below when installing the secondary HO2S.

CAUTION: Do not let the secondary HO2S wire harness contact the heat shields. If the secondary HO2S wire harness contacts the heat shield, keep the wire harness away from the heat shield by moving the wire harness clamp.

NOTE: Check that the clearance is more than 4 mm (0.2 inch) between the heat shields and rear side of the TWO as shown. If the clearance is less than 4 mm (0.2 inch), loosen the 6 x 1.0 mm bolts on the heat shields and tighten them adjusting the clearance.
