Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation

With the ignition switch in ON (II) (and for 10 minutes after it is switched to LOCK (0) and as long as both doors remain closed), the integrated control unit provides voltage to the coil of the power window relay. The contacts of the power window relay close and voltage is applied to the moonroof control unit.

When you move the moonroof switch to the OPEN position, ground is provided to the moonroof control unit through the GRY/YEL wire. The moonroof control unit then provides voltage to the motor, the motor runs and the roof opens.

When you move the moonroof switch to the CLOSE position, ground is provided to the moonroof control unit through the GRY/RED wire. The moonroof control unit then provides voltage to the motor, the motor runs and the roof closes.
