Rearview Mirror Removal

'99 - '04 models (With automatic dimming):

CAUTION: When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

1. Remove the front ceiling light.




2. Disconnect the connector, and carefully remove the bracket cover by releasing the hooks. Take care not to scratch the cover and mirror bracket.




3. To release the spring, slide the rearview mirror forward by gently tapping the mirror bracket with a flat-tip screwdriver and a plastic hammer. Remove the mirror from the lug.




4. Remove the wire cover from the mirror bracket by releasing the hooks in the sequence shown.




5. Install the rearview mirror by sliding it over the lug until its spring contacts the lug. Gently tap the mirror bracket with a flat-tip screwdriver and a plastic hammer. Be careful not to damage the wire.




6. Install the wire cover in the sequence shown. Take care not to damage the hooks.
7. Install the bracket cover, and connect the connector, then install the roof console.
