Front Seat Cover
Seat Cover ReplacementSRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and precautions and procedures before performing repair or service.
CAUTION: Put on gloves to protect your hands.
NOTE:
- Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat covers.
- On the passenger's seat with side airbag, do not touch the OPDS sensor in the seat-back pad, and keep it away from oil. Oil can corrode the sensor causing it to fail.
Seat-back cover removal:
1. Slide the front seat forward, and fold the seat-back forward.
2. Remove the back cover.
3. Release the hook strips, then loosen the seat-back cover.
4. Release the hooks of the reinforceing cloth from the seat-back frame.
5. Remove the headrest and headrest guides.
6. Pull back the edge of the seat-back cover all the way around, and release the clips, then remove the seat back cover.
7. Install the cover in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- To prevent wrinkles when installing a seat-back cover, make sure the material is stretched evenly over the pad before securing the clips, hooks, and hook strips.
- Replace any clips you removed with new ones. Install them with commercially available upholstery ring pliers.
- Reinstall the hooks of the reinforceing cloth securely.
- Use only original Honda or Acura replacement seat-back covers.
- Passenger's seat: Reinitialize the OPDS control unit.
