WARRANTY CLAIM INFORMATION

In warranty:
The normal warranty applies.

Out of warranty:
Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Technical Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Open the moonroof.

2. Using your fingers, feel the ends of the moonroof visor clips.

^ If the clips hook onto the inner lip on the underside of the moonroof opening, go to step 3.

^ If the clip hook onto the outer lip on the underside of the moonroof opening, go to step 12.

3. remove and discard visor retaining clips, then remove the visor.

4. Clean the area around the moonroof opening.

5. Set the moonroof visor on the vehicle's roof, forward of the moon root opening, and adjust its position so it is equally spaced on all sides.

6. Apply a short strip of masking tape to each side of the roof ahead of where the clips attach to the moonroof opening. Remove the visor.

7. Check that the existing protective tape is in line with the masking tape. If it is damaged, missing, or not in line with the masking tape, attach a new piece. Be sure the end of the protective tape just touches the inner lip on the moon roof opening.

8. Repeat step 7 on the other side.

9. Remove the masking tape from the roof, and then set the visor in the proper position. Check for equal spacing side-to-side. Then, while holding the visor in place, hook the new visor retaining clips between the inner lip and the outer lip of the moonroof opening at the taped locations.

10. Check that the rubber seal is not twisted or rolled under the visor.

11. Tighten the nuts, alternating between sides. Do not overtighten them.

12. With the moon roof half-way open, lubricate the front edge of the moonroof trim seal with Honda Silicone Grease.

13. Close the moonroof, and tilt the glass up.

14. Lubricate the rear edge and the sides of the moonroof trim seal.
