No Picture Is Shown on the Display

Symptom Troubleshooting

No picture is shown on the display

1. Check the NAVIGATION (10 A) fuse in the passenger's under-dash fuse relay box, and reinstall the fuse if it is OK.

Is the fuse OK?

YES - Go to step 2.

NO - Replace the fuse and recheck.

2. Check the ACC (7.5 A) fuse in the Driver's under-dash fuse relay box, and reinstall the fuse if it is OK.

Is the fuse OK?

YES - '99 model, go to step 3.
'00-03 models, go to step 6.

NO - Replace the fuse and recheck.

3. Check the NAVIGATION relay, and remove the relay if it is OK.

Is the relay OK?

YES - Go to step 4.

NO - Replace the relay.




4. Measure the voltage between body ground and Navigation relay connector (4P) No. 2 and No. 4 individually.

Is there battery voltage?

YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Repair open in the wire between the passenger's and driver's under-dash fuse relay box and the navigation relay.




5. Check for continuity between navigation relay connector (4P) terminal No. 3 and body ground.

Is there continuity?

YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Repair open in the wire between the navigation relay and body ground (G202).

6. Reinstall the NAVIGATION relay.
7. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).




8. Measure the voltage between body ground and navigation unit connector C (8P) terminals No. 1 and No. 2 individually.

Is there battery voltage?

YES - Go to step 9.

NO - If the RED/YEL wire does not have voltage, repair the open in the wire between the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation unit.

If the YEL/BLK wire does not have voltage, repair the open in the wire between the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the navigation unit.




9. Check for continuity between navigation unit connector C (8P) terminal No. 4 and body ground.

Is there continuity?

YES - Go to step 10.

NO - Repair open in the wire between the navigation unit and body ground (G603).

10. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
11. Perform the forced starting of the display.

Is the diagnosis menu of the picture diagnosis displayed?

YES - Perform the System Links Test in the Picture Diagnosis Test menu.

NO - Go to step 12.

12. Shield the display unit from the sun with your hand, and check that the display is black (only back light is ON.)

Can you see the back light?

YES - Replace the navigation unit.

NO - Replace the display unit.
