Power Mirror Position Switch/Sensor: Description and Operation
How the Circuit WorksThe power mirrors and driver's seat have a memory feature. The two outside mirror adjustments and the three driver's seat adjustments (forward and back, up and down, seat back angle) can be regulated separately. All of the adjustments can be memorized at the same time by pressing the MEMO button on the driving position memory switch, and then (within five seconds) pressing one of the two position buttons. If you press that same position button after the adjustments are memorized, the seat will move to those memorized positions.
NOTE: Disconnecting the battery for more than 30 seconds will cancel the memorized positions.
Power Mirror Position Sensors
Each power mirror has two Hall-effect type sensors to detect the changes in voltage caused by the movements of the mirror. The power mirror control circuit in the passenger's multiplex control unit then stores the voltage changes for that mirror's position in its memory.
