Door Sash Trim Is Fading
SYMPTOM
The door sash outer trim is fading.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The UV protection on the door sash outer trim is breaking down.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the door sash outer trim pieces that are faded.

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Lower the glass fully.
2. Remove the door panel:
^ Refer to page 20-6 of the 1999-2003 3.2TL Service Manual for the front door(s) and page 20-12 for the rear door(s).
^ In ISIS, enter the keyword SASH, and select Doors Component Location Index - Front Door from the list.
3. Pull the glass run channel away as needed, then remove the screws.
4. Pull back on the door sash trim, and release the hook from the rear edge of the door. Remove the door sash trim.
5. Install the new door sash trim, the screws, the glass run channel, the door glass outer weatherstrip, and the door panel(s).
6. Repeat steps 1 thru 5 for other affected doors.
7. For 2002-03 3.2TL: Reset the power window control unit on the driver's door.
