Driver's Power Seat Motor Test, With Dpms

Motor Test

Driver's Seat (Without Memory):
1. Remove the driver's seat.




2. Disconnect the 6P connectors from the adjustment switch (A).




3. Test each motor by applying battery voltage and body ground to the terminals.
4. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, check for an open in the power seat wire harness between the 6P connector and the 2P or 4P connectors. If the harness is OK, replace the motor.

Passenger's Seat:
1. Remove the passenger's seat.




2. Disconnect the 6P connectors from the adjustment switch (A) and the SP connector from the passenger's power seat control unit.




3. Test the slide motor by applying battery voltage and body ground to the passenger's power seat control unit connector terminals.




4. Test the recline motor by applying battery voltage and ground to the adjustment switch connector terminals.
5. If a motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, check for an open in the power seat wire harness between the 6P adjustment switch connector or the 8P passenger 5 power seat control unit connector and the 2P connectors. If the harness is OK, replace the affected motor.



Driver's Power Seat Motor Test

1. Remove the driver's seat.




2. Disconnect the connector from each power seat connector.




3. Test the motor by connecting power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect battery power immediately.
4. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace it.
