The DTC in parentheses is the code the D4 indicator light indicates when the Data Link Connector is connected to the Honda PGM Tester in the SCS mode or when the SCS 2P connector is jumped.

NOTE: When the OBD II Scan Tool or Honda PGM Tester indicate DTC(s) for the automatic transmission control system, the scan tool or tester indicates code P0700 simultaneously. Code P0700 means a detection of some automatic transmission problem in the PGM-FI control system. Always retrieve the A/T DTC before clearing code P0700.





If the self-diagnostic D4 indicator light does not blink and no code is found with the PGM Tester, perform an inspection according to the table.

NOTE: If a customer describes the symptom for code P1706 (6) (no shift position indicators on), it will be necessary to recreate the symptom by test-driving, then recheck the DTC.
