Dust and Pollen Filter ReplacementThe dust and pollen filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 24 months whichever comes first. Replace the filter more often if the airflow is less than usual.
1. Remove the glove box.
2. Cut the plastic cross brace (A) in the glove box opening with diagonal cutters in the area shown. Remove the cross brace and the two mounting screws (B) from the glove box opening. Retain these parts to be reinstalled later.
3. Remove the filter lid (A) from the evaporator, then pull out the upper and lower dust and pollen filters (B).
4. Remove and replace the filter (A) from the housing (B).
5. Install the filters in the reverse order of removal. Make sure that there is no air leaking out of the evaporator.
6. Install the cross brace (A) into the glove box opening by aligning the tabs (B) with the slots (C).
7. Secure the cross brace with the two mounting screws (D) removed in step 2.
8. Reinstall the glove box.
