Front Inner Fenders Are Cracked

PROBLEM

The left and right front inner fenders are cracked at two mounting points.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace both front inner fenders, and modify the grommets in the front fenders.

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove the front inner fender (see page 20-102 of the 2002 RSX Service Manual). Discard the inner fender.





2. Remove the two grommets from the front fender. Use a pair of diagonal cutters to trim the grommets as shown. Reinstall the grommets with the trimmed side facing outward.

3. Install the new front inner fender.

4. Repeat steps 1 thru 3 for the other inner fender.
