Interior - Dash Storage Pocket Loose/Damaged

Pocket Assembly Is Knocked Loose or Damaged

SYMPTOM

The pocket assembly is knocked loose from the lower dashboard.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The pocket assembly spring pins were lost or the pocket assembly was damaged because it was knocked loose from the lower dashboard.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the pocket assembly spring pins or the pocket assembly.

PARTS INFORMATION

Pocket Assembly:
P/N 77750-S6M-A00ZA (Graphite Black)
P/N 77750-56M-A00ZB (Dark Titanium)

Spring Pins:
P/N 94305-40102

Out of warranty:
Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove the driver's dashboard under cover:

^ Refer to page 20-63 of the 2002-06 HSX Service Manual, or

^ Online, enter keywords UNDER COVER, and select Driver's Dashboard Under Cover Removal/Installation from the list.

2. Remove the driver's dashboard switch panel:

^ Refer to page 20-64 of the service manual, or

^ Online, enter keywords SWITCH PANEL, and select Dashboard Driver's Switch Panel Removal/Installation from the list.





3. Remove the four screws from the pocket assembly. Then remove the pocket assembly.

4. If still attached, remove the spring pins, then inspect the spring pin eyelets of the pocket assembly for damage:

^ If the spring pin eyelets are damaged, replace the pocket assembly.





^ If the spring pin eyelets are OK, go to step 5.

5. Lightly press the new spring pins into the eyelets.

^ If either spring pin is loose and you feel no resistance, replace the pocket assembly.





^ If you feel a slight resistance when installing the spring pins, go to step 6.





7. Insert the new spring pins into the pocket assembly eyelets until the ends of the pins are flush with the mounting bracket, then install the spring.

8. Reinstall the pocket assembly, the driver's switch panel, and the driver's dashboard under cover.
